I am a visual artist and writer of short stories, flash fiction, creative nonfiction, interviews, and essays. My work has appeared in literary journals and anthologies including Gulf Coast, Catapult, Atticus Review, and many more. My writing centers on the experiences of the elderly, the young, Chinese immigrants, and American-born first-generation Chinese. As a visual artist, I work with paper collage art, Chinese scroll painting techniques, and on large-scale tile mosaics. I love how mathematics can inform poetry, folktales inform anthropology, biology informs painting, and physics informs flash fiction. I love how different disciplines enrich one another in ways that defy our expectations.
